An Event To Remember

Here’s a recent event we won’t forget any time soon.

One of the biggest events in inspection and maintenance robotics has just taken place, and it was nothing short of excellent. The SPRINT Robotics World Conference For Inspection and Maintenance Robots is one of the highlights of our calendar, and this year was no exception.

At the end of September, we had the pleasure of not just attending, but exhibiting and speaking at the conference which was packed with visitors from a wide range of industries. It was a pleasure to connect with each one of them, and even more encouraging is how desirable the technologies we offer are now becoming.

“In the past few years, Drones and Robotics were a “nice to have”, but the industry is becoming more and more enthusiastic about the technology because they’ve now seen what it’s capable of. We’re very proud to be a part of that wider innovation and adoption.”

Ronald Boelee, Sales Director, Falcker

A Great Showing

To say that the conference was crowded would be an understatement. It was great to see an event have real traction, with people from so many industries able to rub shoulders and really connect over technology.

The focus, as you might guess from the name, was on robotics for inspection and maintenance, and our purpose at the show was three-fold:  Showcase some of the technology we use, make new (and nurture old) connections, and pitch Falcker to a room full of attendees.

The tech we had on show was Mapture.ai and the Percepto system. Both are fantastic platforms, and we believe that companies of all shapes and sizes can benefit from the right one:

  • Mapture.ai is a drone system that makes a great entry point for any company looking to introduce drone scanning to their maintenance and inspection operation.
  • Percepto is a more premium offering and is an end-to-end solution that takes the human operator out of the equation and automates inspection routes.

Our elevator pitch was only five minutes long, but it gave our CIO, Duco Boer, a great opportunity to bring some insight to some of the attendees who didn’t know who we were or what we do. We’re pleased to report that afterward there was an enthusiastic response to our technology and services from a number of industry leaders.

Seeing The Industry Shift

We have started to feel the movement in the wider industry in the last few months. We even wrote about it the last time we covered an event – the SPRINT Robotics Fitness Challenge. Both existing customers and the new contacts we made at the show are all now deeply interested in driving these types of technologies further into their businesses.

There were a lot of innovation managers on the conference floor that we had the pleasure of dealing with, and they can see the benefits of what the technology can do right now, along with its potential in the future. There have been a lot of trials over the last 5 years, and now it seems the big players are ready to commit.

As access to more advanced hardware and software becomes available, how we integrate that with our own platform could transform the way huge multinationals are able to take care of asset maintenance and inspection.
