Just like our last piece on our Ops specialist Lars, we wanted to spend some more time highlighting the brilliant work of the Falcker team. And, like last time, we want it to come from them, not us, so take it away, Sandy, and let the people know what it’s really like to work at Falcker.

The Why
Hey there, I’m Sandy, and just so you know, these really are my words. Between you and me, although I’ve only been with Falcker for around 6 months, they definitely can’t get rid of me – I’m here to stay! My background is numbers. Well, actually back at university I studied sports, but quickly realized I had a passion for maths and numbers and that took my fancy once I finished university.
Like Lars, there was a family connection that helped me see a career I could get involved in, with my father being an accountant for many years. I’ve now been in the accounts game for over 20 years, and so I can safely say I love it, otherwise, I wouldn’t still get excited about going to work each day.
When I joined Falcker, it was only supposed to be a temporary position, but I fell in love with the company and the team. Hopefully, they feel the same way!
I also love the fact that Falcker is a small company. In my previous jobs, I worked for big companies, and it was always hard to get to know everyone. But at Falcker, I got to know all the big customers after just a month or two. I feel like I’m a part of the team, and crucially part of the work we do for customers, and that’s an amazing feeling.

One Of The Gang
Each member of the Falcker team has a specific knowledge, and we’re all ‘nerds’ but we’re nerds with a sense of humor, which makes the job all the more enjoyable. We’re willing to do anything for each other, and even though we may not always know what the other person is doing on a technical level, we want them to succeed. We’re a tight-knit group, and I’m proud to be a part of it.
Recently, Falcker started using a new accounts system and the setup had evolved since the company started, and it had become quite complicated. When I mentioned that I’m a nerd, I meant it, because it’s been a really engaging and exciting challenge being a part of that migration to a new system. I’ve been able to use my experience and expertise to help the company do things better, and I love that.
I’m excited to see what the future holds, and I’m looking forward to continuing my career at Falcker and growing with the business.
